As exigências crescentes e as rápidas mudanças nos mercados obrigam as organizações a pensarem cada vez mais na inovação e melhoria contínua. Hoje em dia qualquer estratégia de crescimento, e até mesmo a própria sobrevivência nos mercados, passa cada vez mais pela aplicação de novas abordagens e metodologias.
A redução de desperdícios, melhoria contínua, inovação e a capacidade de resolução de problemas tornaram-se de extrema importância nas últimas décadas. Nesta linha estratégica, a metodologia Lean é reconhecida e divulgada dentro das organizações devido aos benefícios advindos da sua aplicação e dos resultados positivos na identificação de desperdícios. Identificados os desperdícios, a metodologia especializada na resolução de problemas é a TRIZ – Teoria da Resolução Inventiva de Problemas.

We report a case of a 26 year-old man with diplopia, proptosis and a mass in superior eyelide of the left eye, slow-growth, with 2 months duration. He had a history of facial trauma 5 months ago. The CT and MRI showed a frontal sinus mucocele. The patient was treated with antibiotic and had been subjected to functional endoscopic surgery with marsupialization of the frontal mucocele.
Objective: Evaluate the impact of adenotonsillectomy on the humoral immune system in children, according to its surgical criteria.Methods: A total of 69 children scheduled for adenotonsillectomy were included in this study and subsequently separated into three groups according to the surgical criteria (infectious, hypertrophic and both). The levels of IgA, IgG, IgM, C3, and C4 were measured in blood samples collected in these patients before and 6 months after surgery.Results: The levels of IgG, IgA and IgM in children undergoing adenotonsillectomy showed a significant decrease in the postoperative period, while levels of C3 were significantly higher. Spasmodic dysphonia is a focal dystonia that provokes motor dysfunction of the larynx.A case diagnosed as adductor spasmodic dysphonia treated with Botulinium Toxin, type A, is reported.
The authors present a clinical case of congenital hearing loss due to cochlear aplasia diagnosed at 58 years old, as a imagiological finding during the study of a chronic otitis media. Cochlear aplasia is a rare congenital malformation that represents only 3% of cochlear malformations. It is characterized by the complete absence of the cochlea, with the presence of remnants of the vestibule and semicircular canals. It is to emphasize the importance of attentive taking of medical history, suspicion and investigation of the cause of deafness, even when this can be explained by another recognized condition.
We report a case of a giant frontoethmoidal osteoma with orbital extension in a 55-year-old man who was referred to us by his general practitioner because of a long time facial deformity. A review of the literature is also presented.
Vascular leiomyoma is a benign smooth muscle tumor. lt is common in the uterus, alimentary tract, skin and subcutaneous tissue, but uncommon in the head and neck area. We report a case that involved the nasal cavity, an extremely rare location. Treatment options and a review of the literature are discussed.
