Em vista da permeabilidade conceptual do nonsense literário, a exploração do eixo cómico de Aliceþs Adventures in Wonderland e Through the Looking-glass é uma via de demarcação teórica e análise prática do nonsense carrolliano. Com efeito, tendo previamente assumido uma linha de tradição literária enraizada no cómico, estabelecem-se várias conexões entre o discurso nonsense, enquadrado nos esquemas socioculturais vitorianos, e as práticas linguísticas pós-românticas, nomeadamente a introversão da linguagem poética na sua significação interna que legitima a construção verbal nonsense deslocada e descentrada do seu apoio referencial. De modo a terminar o mestrado em Gestão, especialização em Recursos Humanos, considerou-se pertinente a realização de um estágio em contexto laboral, como forma a melhorar as competências técnicas e comportamentais. O estágio teve dois objectivos: aplicação dos conhecimentos adquiridos na primeira fase do mestrado e pesquisa de uma oportunidade de inserção no mercado de trabalho. O mesmo foi realizado na Caixa Geral Depósitos (CGD), empresa escolhida devido à posição de destaque que assume em Portugal e por se considerar que é uma organização líder e forte em muitos aspectos, nomeadamente em áreas da gestão de recursos humanos. Objectives: Assess whether chronic otitis media (COM) accelerates deterioration of bone conduction. Study design: Retrospective study.Materials and methods: From 688 patients operated on for COM (years 2009-2013) at Hospital São José, 212 were randomly analyzed and exclusion criteria were applied resulting in 177 patients. We compare average tonal bone conduction threshold (ATBCT) of the sample, with results of the sample of the british population studied by Davis et al. in 1989. Age, gender, type of otorrhea and type of COM were registered. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 22.0®.Results: Applying binomial proportion test, by comparing the results from our study and Davis et al. study, we verified a statistically significant difference in all age groups (except 71-80 years) for the occurrence of ATBCT≥20. Objective: To determine the prevalence of hearing loss in Navy personnel that was reveled between June of 2005 and June of 2006 at the Navy Disability Evaluation Council, categorizing these cases in accordance with: the causes of hearing loss, the year of enlistment in the Navy, the presence on expeditions in the Portuguese African war, the rate, the category, the rank and the degree of disability due to the hearing loss.Methods: A retrospective observational study was performed. A laryngocele is an abnormal dilatation of the laryngeal saccule which communicates with the laryngeal lumen. It may be congenital or acquired; the acquired type has a multifactorial ethiopathogenesis and may be related to the increase in the intralaryngeal pressure. Typically it is found in caucasian male individuals and in their fifth or sixth decades of life; it is more frequently unilateral and combined or mixed type. Usually it develops slowly; however it may present as acute airway obstruction requiring urgent intubation or tracheotomy, as in the case of infection with the formation of a laryngopyocele.
